About Colis Duncan, CEO
Dr. Colis Duncan is the Founder and Director of Different Faces Places and People, Inc., bringing more than 40 years of professional experience in the fashion industry, education, business, and cultural event production.
Dr. Duncan has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM), and a PhD in Business. Her professional education also includes a Diploma in Fashion Design from London and a Diploma in Fashion Merchandising from Toronto, Canada.
Throughout her career, Dr. Duncan has produced and directed fashion events in Toronto, Jamaica, and Miami, combining fashion, creativity, culture, and community engagement. Her international fashion experience has provided her with a broad understanding of creative industries and the power of the arts to educate, connect, and inspire communities.
Dr. Duncan also brings extensive experience in education. She worked with Broward County Public Schools, supporting students in Early Learning, grades K–6, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). She also teaches within the Department of Juvenile Justice, further expanding her experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds and educational circumstances.
Her educational experience strengthens her commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people to learn through history, culture, creativity, and the arts.
As Director and Founder of Different Faces Places and People, Inc., Dr. Duncan brings together her background in education, business, fashion, and cultural programming to advance the organization’s mission of using creativity, history, education, and cultural understanding to connect communities and inspire future generations.
